Fortuitous Artists 2011 Competition for Solo Flute Performance
Open to music majors currently enrolled in any accredited college in the United States.

- First prize of $300 and your personal copy of the professional recording (see below)
- Second prize of $200
- Third prize of $100
All prizewinners will receive a bound, autographed copy of the score.
The first prize winner will be invited to make a professional quality audio recording of There in person
in or near Boston, Mass. within three months of the competition deadline with coaching by the composer.
Reasonable scheduling accommodations can be made. Travel and expenses cannot be reimbursed.

Competition Rules and Guidelines
- No application fee required.
- Personal information submitted will only be used to administer the competition, and will not be presented to third parties without your permission.
- Application materials must be received before midnight on Sat., November 12, 2011, US Eastern Standard Time.
- A semi-professional standard of recording quality is expected in submitted recordings.
- Only the first 25 applications received can be considered.
- Prize-winning applicants should be available prior to the professional recording date for
several hours of coaching in person, or via Internet video or phone at mutually agreeable times.
- Applications including recordings that cannot be played by the judges will be disqualified.
- Applications including edited recordings will be disqualified.
- Applications with too many errors or omissions can be disqualified.
- Applicants will retain backup copies of their submission.
- Applicants must have a reasonable command of the English language.
- Applicants agree that the score of There is provided for personal use during the competition, and that all performance, recording, and
publication rights remain with the composer.
- The judges reserve the right not to make any award should applications not meet expected standards.
- All judges' decisions are final.
